Tarot Reading

Not Your Grandmother's Tarot!

“I just don't know what to do!"

We all get stuck now and then. We find it hard to make a big decision, or we struggle to understand the meaning of certain events in our lives. When we just plough through and don’t take time for introspection and process, we risk repeating old patterns and invite disease and suffering.

Without exert guidance and support, we might experience:

What is Tarot?

The Tarot is a deck of cards with a long history. These cards have helped us make sense of our lives and our experiences for over 600 years. Over that time, the cards were used for entertainment and divination. However, modern day Tarot reading has evolved away from entertainment and divination. Much more like the archetypal healing paths found in Jungian and Depth Psychology, Tarot is now a tool for growth and healing.

The images on the cards, regardless of what deck you might use, reflect certain, common aspects of human life, personality and challenge. While some of the images and characters are as old as Tarot itself, the meaning behind the images changes with the times. As society evolves and grows, so does the Tarot.

A modern Tarot session is more therapy than psychic reading or fortune telling. The cards are just one tool the intuitive healer can use to help you make sense of your life, find ways to recover from past experience, make sense of the present, and plan for and envision the future you want.

What causes anxiety?

While anxiety can be caused by a number of things including medical issues, certain drugs, and even caffeine, usually it is a result of part of your nervous system just doing what it was designed to do, alert you to the presence of potential danger. Think of anxiety as this powerful, yet primitive part of you running on overdrive!

The middle of your brain is very powerful, fast-acting and adaptable. When something happens that is scary, overwhelming or leads to a negative experience, your brain records it along with everything associated with that moment in time. Later, when something similar happens, without you even knowing it, your mid-brain is already responding by sending signals to your body to prepare to run or fight. Your heart and breathing rate increase, your senses get really focused, and you feel that familiar panicky feeling in your chest.

Unfortunately, this part of the brain doesn’t use logic. It doesn’t understand you don’t really need to be scared of elevators or frogs. It just sees a frog, and wham, you’re feeling anxious.

What are Panic Attacks/Panic Disorder?

Panic Disorder causes episodes of Panic Attacks, or severe anxiety and terror. Within seconds, the survival based systems in the brain and body react to real or perceived triggers and quickly put you into a state of readiness. This readiness feels horrible. It’s like extreme terror, and sufferers often report they feel like they are about to die.

Symptoms of Panic Attack

  • extreme quickening of breath and heart rate
  • tightness and pain in chest
